(iskconnews.org) – Mexico to Welcome its First Sadhu Sanga Event
In a landmark event, the first-ever Sadhu Sanga Kirtan Retreat is set to take place in the serene surroundings of Las Estacas Resort, Mexico, from September 15-18, 2023. Organized by a dedicated team on behalf of Indradyumna Swami, this retreat promises to be a joyous celebration of spiritual unity and devotion.
Inspired by the desire to strengthen the local Hare Krishna community in Mexico, Sakhi Vrinda Devi Dasi and Syama Priya Thakurani Devi Dasi, two devoted godsisters from Mexico City, reached out to the experienced team that has organized previous Sadhu Sanga events in the USA. That team, led by Govinda Caran Das and Rasika Siromani Dasi, both disciples of His Holiness Indradyumna Maharaja, readily embraced the vision of creating an uplifting retreat experience for devotees in Mexico.
“We wanted to bring the essence of Sadhu Sanga to Mexico, offering an opportunity for local devotees to immerse themselves in the powerful vibration of kirtan and spiritual association,” said Govinda Caran. “Our goal is to provide a transformative experience that will inspire and unite devotees in their devotion to Lord Krishna.”
The retreat’s daily schedule will be packed with soul-stirring kirtans, enlightening Srimad Bhagavatam classes, and delicious prasada meals. Attendees can participate in vibrant kirtan sessions led by a diverse group of talented kirtaneers, including some internationally renowned names in the Hare Krishna movement.
“We believe that kirtan has the power to touch the soul and connect us with the divine,” says Rasika Siromani. “By bringing devotees from all walks of life together, we hope to create a powerful and uplifting atmosphere that will deepen our spiritual experiences.”
Located just two hours from Mexico City, Las Estacas Resort offers a picturesque backdrop for this spiritually enriching retreat. Attendees can choose from three accommodation options to suit their preferences and budgets. The camping option allows devotees to bring their own tents and immerse themselves in the beauty of nature. A hostel option offers rooms with bunk beds for a shared experience. In contrast, the ‘glamping’ option provides luxurious tents with private amenities for those seeking a touch of comfort. “Las Estacas Resort is the perfect setting for our retreat,” says Govinda Caran. “Its serene environment and exclusive facilities provide the ideal backdrop for spiritual growth and rejuvenation.”
The organizers emphasize that the retreat is open to members of the Hare Krishna community and the wider non-Hare Krishna community in Mexico. Efforts are underway to engage local yoga practitioners and spiritual seekers, fostering unity and spiritual awakening among all participants.

… talented kirtaneers”. Is this a new term or has this been used before? I always thought it was “kirtanias”.
