(Dandavats.com) – 3rd Year Children’s Ratha Yatra in Cassiobury Park, Watford, UK
Priti Kumari Devi Dasi
Since, not much was happening during Covid, a few mothers got together and decided to celebrate some festivals for kids, like Kids Ratha Yatra. During the first year (2021), very few were invited considering COVID restrictions, but last year it was more of an open invitation and around 100 devotees joined the festival. And this year (2023), which was their third year of Ratha Yatra, over 200 devotees (especially families with kids) joined the festivities. The kids had so much fun and it was basically their festival.
We are really obliged to Food For All (FFA) and especially Arjuna Prabhu, without whom this festival wouldn’t have been such a big success. They provided us with all the required bhoga, food containers, flowers, juices, ice lollies (which the kids really enjoyed), and gave us the speakers. Special thanks also to Parasuram Prabhu for the wonderful magic show, which even the parents enjoyed.
We are also grateful to Nev Prabhu and Devyani for building a nice sturdy Ratha Yatra cart. We would also like to acknowledge Sharda Mataji and her family for bringing their beautiful deities and for cooking delicious pasta. Cheers to her daughter, Rakshika for helping her Mother with the above despite her GCSE exams. A huge thank you to Krishnamayi for making salad, yummy banana bread, and for ensuring that all mums who were cooking got the required bhoga from FFA. Many thanks to Krishna Kripa Das for cooking the flavourful subji for all the devotees.
