Installation of Lotus foot print of Lord Caitanya

Lord Caitanya’s influence is expanding and His presence through the process of Sankirtana is being felt more than ever before. The Supreme Lord in His golden form of the topmost devotee, is now further expanding His mercy by setting His lotus footprints in various parts of Bharata Bhumi!

It was the desire of Srila Bhakisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada to install 108 Lotus Footprints of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu at the places where Lord Caitanya visited to create awareness of His having been there. He installed eight such lotus footprints , and he left the remaining hundred for us. At each place, accompanied by a small party, Srila Sarasvati Thakura installed a stone imprint representing Mahaprabhu’s lotus feet by washing it with Ganga water, performing arati, reading from the relevant section of Sri Caitanya-caritamrita, and performing sankirtana. He also gave the priests and temple managers funds for the construction of a simple shrine for the footprints.

In order to fulfill the desire of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, His Holiness Jayapataka Swami has recently installed the lotus feet of Lord Caitanya in various places in South and East India, and is now getting them installed in Northern and Western parts of India as well.

In Feb 2024, His Holiness Jayapataka Swami, in the presence of His Holiness Gopala Krishna Goswami Maharaja, His Holiness Giriraja Swami, His Holiness Radhanatha Swami, His Grace Ambarisa dasa and Her Grace Svaha devi dasi, performed the abhiseka of the Lotus Footprints of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, which will be installed at Nasika, Kolapura and Mumbai, as visited by Lord Caitanya. His Holiness Jayapataka Swami felt grateful for the presence of all the senior Gurus/sannyasis and devotees assembled. The abhiseka was carried out with deep devotion and one could feel enthusiasm in the air !
