(iskconnews.org) – ISKCON News | Mandakini Dasi Launches Latest Book “Panchatattva: Five Heroes Of The Golden Age”

Mandakini Dasi released her latest book, Panchatattva: Five Heroes Of The Golden Age, on November 16, 2023, in Puri. The series consists of five books, each dedicated to one of the Panchatattvas, and they are available as a colorful box set that is very appealing to parents and children alike.

The launch of the book took place at the inauguration of HH Radhanath Swami’s Puri Yatra. Mandakini revealed, “The decision to launch in Puri Yatra was driven by the intention to engage with international devotees who have been readers of my initial work. Additionally, the launch served as an occasion to seek the blessings of revered Srila Prabhupada disciples and esteemed senior devotees, contributing to the formal recognition of their guidance and support.”

Born and raised in the United Kingdom until the age of twelve, Mandakini Dasi moved to Sridhaam Mayapur in 2013. Since childhood, she has immersed herself in the tapestry of Krishna Consciousness activities, meticulously guided by the sagacity of her parents and elder brother. The crucible of her personal experiences is the bedrock for this latest book.

Embarking on the unconventional journey of unraveling the theme of Mahaprabhu for children, Mandakini’s literary odyssey took a unique turn. She said, “Exploring the theme of Mahaprabhu for children is a relatively uncommon venture in our society. Following the positive reception of my initial work, Nimai’s Adventures Part I, my goal was to impart an understanding of Lord Chaitanya and his associates to young readers. The concept of a box set emerged to provide each child with an immersive experience, featuring a dedicated book for each personality.”

She continued, “Within this box set, a comprehensive collection unfolds, comprising detailed fun fact files for each personality. The content includes information, shlokas, bhajans, pastimes, and much more, ensuring an engaging and educational journey. Each box set is adorned with vibrant stickers, adding an extra element of delight for young readers.”

The response garnered during the book launch surpassed expectations, transcending geographical boundaries. Devotees, spanning the globe and encompassing those familiar with Mandakini’s earlier works, eagerly acquired their copies. Mandakini said, “Children and parents returned the next day, expressing appreciation for the joy they found in reading the book. The book also received abundant blessings and appreciation from senior devotees and disciples of Srila Prabhupada. Temples and schools across the world have also started placing their orders.”

Testimonials poured in as children and parents returned, expressing gratitude for the joy derived from the literary creation. One enthusiastic child exclaimed, “Mataji, I could not sleep last night because I simply could not put the books down!” Senior devotees and disciples of Srila Prabhupada bestowed their blessings and appreciation, while temples and schools globally initiated orders. Radhanath Swami, with a warm smile, expressed, “These are beautifully done,” and engaged in conversation about the book.

On being asked about her motivation to write, Mandakini revealed that her spiritual master, HH Subhag Swami, is her primary source of inspiration. She added, “His unwavering encouragement to write constantly motivates me to push my boundaries. Alongside, the invaluable support of my incredible parents and husband plays a big role in executing this service. They constantly encourage me to write more and help me along each step of the journey.”

Mandakini expressed her extreme joy in receiving such an overwhelming response from the book. She said, “Receiving feedback from children, parents, and schools about how the books have genuinely benefited them brings me immense joy. Knowing that the books have made a positive impact fuels my passion for this endeavor.”

Regarding her future plans, Mandakini revealed, “The Twelve Mahajans series for children is currently underway, delving into the pastimes of these great personalities. Simultaneously, the creation of Nimai’s Adventures Part II is also in progress. This series will be an exploration of Nimai’s Madhya Lila and young adult pastimes. Stay tuned for more captivating stories and experiences unfolding in these upcoming releases.”

She concluded, “At Mandakini Publications, we ardently strive to proliferate the presence of these children’s books. Our mission is clear: to provide top-tier quality books that nourish spiritual and academic education for children. We endeavor to bridge the realms of Krishna Consciousness and children’s education, guiding our future generation to thrive within Srila Prabhupada’s society.”
