On December 7th, Kunti Devi Dasi, ISKCON’s Interreligious Dialogue representative in Brasil, was invited to speak at an event that brought together judges and justices from the Regional and Federal Courts of Justice in Rio de Janeiro. The auspicious occasion was held at the feet of the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, a colossal Christian monument atop the Corcovado mountain overlooking Rio. The theme of the gathering was “justice,” and it featured representatives from various religious traditions who brought their unique perspectives to the topic with an aim to promote understanding and more meaningful interreligious dialogue. Kunti Devi Dasi spoke on the Vedic approach to justice.

In her lecture, she explored how the concept of justice is intrinsically linked to the principle of Dharma, emphasizing the importance of understanding and fulfilling one’s duty to achieve balance in the pursuit of justice. She highlighted the need to discover one’s duties, missions, and limits, seeking harmony with the dimension of Dharma.

Mentioning the mission of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, Kunti Devi Dasi underscored the propagation of the Holy Names of Krishna, expressing ISKCON’s commitment to spreading the Vedic science brought by Srila Prabhupada to the West.

This event exemplifies ISKCON Brasil’s dedication, particularly in the Rio de Janeiro Yatra, to reaching significant social spheres, promoting spiritual values, and contributing to constructive interreligious dialogue.
