A transcendental encounter in Vrndavana

The other night an Indian lady approached the book table with her phone showing an Instagram account of a famous Russian devotee asking if I knew if she was currently in Vrindavana. “Not sure, I don’t know the person.”

She asked if I was from Russia and I said, “No, New Zealand.” She was shocked and said, “No way, I live in Hamilton!’

She explained that her and husband were just visiting family in India , but usually she is working for mercury energy company in Hamilton doing door to door sales. I said we have a nice center there where we have kirtan nights, amazing prasādam etc. and maybe when she gets back she can go – it’s called mantra lounge. She again said, “No way! I know that place.” She then explained that when she was working she knocked on a door in Hamilton to try to sell her power company plan and a young girl answered. She wasn’t interested in the power company but the young girl instead gave her a flyer for the mantra lounge and welcomed her to come. She said she was always meaning to go but then left for India. Now we marvelled at how Kṛṣṇa was reminding her on the other side of the world in Vrndavana… that’s a sign! I showed her a picture of Annabelle and she said it was her who gave her the flyer. I got her contact and she promised she would go there when she got back to NZ! She happily took a copy of Prabhupada’s biography to learn of how he built a house the whole world can live in.
