Mathura – Vrindavan to get heritage look

2024.04.30 (Vrindavan Today News): The Mathura – Vrindavan Development Authority (MVDA) is set to undertake rapid development work to transform Mathura and Vrindavan into a Heritage cities.  The initiative includes standardizing the colors of buildings and signage along the markets and pilgrimage routes of both cities. The first phase of the project is slated to commence from Vrindavan’s Prem Mandir, ensuring uniformity in building colors and signage boards along the pilgrimage route.

In a bid to maintain visual consistency, all buildings in the markets and along the pilgrimage routes of Mathura and Vrindavan will have uniform colors, and signage boards of shops will adhere to a standardized design. Discussions with business associations will be held to ensure compliance, and those failing to adhere to the authority’s directives will face penalties, with fines being collected from relevant stakeholders.

The plan also includes extending ornamental poles with electrical infrastructure from Gokul Barrage to Lalita Grand, Lakshminagar Intersection to Baldev Road, Narhauli Chauraha to Aligarh Road in Mathura. Similarly, ornamental poles with electrical infrastructure will be installed from Shri Krishna Janmabhumi Potara Kund Gate to NH 19 in Vrindavan.

The development work is scheduled to kick off from Chhatikara Intersection on the national highway to Prem Mandir in Vrindavan, covering approximately three kilometers. Modern and special facade lighting will be installed on both sides of the route, along with wall painting to signify the entry into Mathura-Vrindavan. The Chhatikara-Vrindavan road will dazzle with the façade lighting. Additionally, artworks will adorn six locations, including My Vrindavan Gate, Vaishno Devi Dham Gate, Shanti Seva Dham, Shri Krishna Janmashtami Ashram, and Rukmani Vihar.

Plans are underway to paint walls along the pilgrimage routes of Vrindavan, along with various locations in Mathura-Vrindavan. The project aims to complete the work within a month, as stated by S.B. Singh, Vice Chairman of the Mathura Vrindavan Development Authority (MVDA).
