New York Senator Honors ISKCON NYC for its Exemplary Service

Hansarupa Dasa, ISKCON NYC Temple President accepting New York State Senate Citation from Senator Roxanne Persaud.

During the September 6th Krishna Janmashtami festivities at ISKCON NYC, special guest New York State Senator Roxanne Persaud presented an official citation to ISKCON NYC’s Temple President Hansarupa Dasa, noting the exemplary service the organization has offered the community.

Senator Persaud, a Democrat representing the 19th Senate District, is a former education administrator with a long history of community service. She was elected to the State Senate in November 2015 after serving in the State Assembly. Persaud was born in Guyana, South America, and migrated to the United States with her parents and siblings.

The citation says, in part, “Their outstanding service is a testament to exceptional devotion to meeting the needs of others, compassion in contributing to society, and vision to change lives and create opportunities where growth and productivity can thrive.”
